BULGUR WHEAT SALAD WITH CHICKEN
Ingredients provided:
• Chicken breast
• Bulgur wheat
• Vegetables
• Fresh herbs
• Vinaigrette
Ingredients from own source:
• Salt
• Pepper
• Vegetable oil
Equipment required:
• Heatproof bowl with lid
• Kettle
• Pan with lid for cooking chicken
• Cutting board and sharp knife
• Scissors for cutting herbs
• Large bowl for serving
Instructions:
• Heat some oil in the pan over medium heat. Salt the chicken and add to the pan. Cover, reduce heat to low and cook until done (internal temperature should be 74°C). Remove from heat and allow to cool. Cut into chunks or strips once cooled.
• Boil the kettle.
• Transfer the bulgur wheat to the heatproof bowl and cover completely with boiling water. Put the lid on and let stand. Once all the water is absorbed the bulgur wheat is ready. Season to taste.
• Peel, deseed and cut the vegetables to your liking.
• Put the vegetables in the serving bowl and cut the herbs into the bowl with the scissors.
• Tip the bulgur wheat into the bowl.
• Stir the dressing into the salad and serve with the chicken.
