PASTA WITH HAM, PEAS AND MUSHROOMS
Ingredients provided:
• Pasta
• Ham
• Peas
• Mushrooms
• Butter
• Cream cheese
Ingredients from own source:
• Salt and pepper
• Oil
Equipment required:
• Frying pan with lid
• Serving bowl
• Pot for cooking pasta
• Cutting board and sharp knife
• Rubber spatula
Instructions:
• Slice the mushrooms if you prefer.
• Heat the butter in the frying pan over medium high heat, add the mushrooms and season with salt and pepper. Cover, lower heat and cook until pan liquids are absorbed.
• Add peas to the pan, return the lid and cook briefly – about 5 minutes.
• Add the cream cheese to the pan and stir about until it melts and forms a sauce. Scrape the sauce into the serving dish.
• Slice the ham in strips and add to the serving dish.
• Cook the pasta, drain (reserving some of the cooking water) and add to the serving dish.
• Stir the sauce through the pasta. Just before serving, refresh the pasta with some of the reserved cooking water.
