Description

POTATO BAKE WITH MINCE AND CHEESE
Ingredients provided:
• Potatoes
• Milk & egg mixture
• Cream cheese
• Ground beef
• Onion
• Garlic
• Cheddar
• Vegetables (if selected)
Ingredients from own source:
• Salt and pepper
• Oil
Equipment required:
• Cutting board and sharp knife
• Pan to cook potatoes (and vegetables if using)
• Jug and whisk
• Frying pan to cook meat
• Grater
• Spatula
• Oven dish
• Non stick spray
Instructions:
• Dice or finely slice the onion and crush the garlic.
• Heat some oil in the frying pan on medium high heat and fry onion 5 minutes. Add garlic and cook 1 minute.
• Add the meat and stir, breaking it up as it browns. Cook 10 minutes. Turn off the heat and keep aside.
• While the meat is coking, peel and slice the potatoes thinly.
• Add a little water and salt to the pan and cook the potato slices about 10 minutes on high heat. Drain and keep aside.
• While the potatoes are cooking, transfer the milk and egg mixture to the jug and season with salt and pepper. Add the cream cheese and whisk until smooth. Add the milk and mix well.
• Grate the cheese.
• Set the oven to 180°C and spray the oven dish with non stick spray.
• Arrange half the potato slices on the bottom of the dish, spoon half the meat over and sprinkle half the cheese over that. Repeat with remainder of ingredients.
• Pour the egg custard over all and put the dish into the oven.
