SWEET & SOUR CHICKEN
Ingredients provided:
• Chicken fillet
• Sweet and sour sauce – leave out on the counter
• Rice (if selected)
• Vegetables (if selected)
Ingredients from own source:
• Salt and pepper
• Oil
Equipment required:
• Cutting board and sharp knife and separate plates for vegetables (if using)
• Dedicated cutting board for chicken
• Pot for cooking rice (if using)
• Wok or pan for frying
• Spatula
• Serving platter
Instructions:
• Slice the chicken in strips and let come to room temperature. Season with salt and pepper.
• Cook rice (if using).
• Peel and slice vegetables in thin strips and tip each sort on its own plate (if using).
• Heat the oil in the wok or frying pan on high heat and fry the vegetables, stirring all the time, tipping onto the serving platter as they are done.
• Add a little more oil to the wok or pan and fry the chicken strips. Add the cooked chicken strips to the platter and cover with the sauce.
